How do I place an order?
You may place an order three ways: (1) on our secure website www.BethelBakery.com, (2) in our retail store or (3) call us and speak with one of our sales associates.

How soon do I need to order a cake?
We suggest ordering 2-3 days in advance (order earlier for major holidays and weekends) in order to get your preference of cake batter, icing and decoration.

What cake options are available with online ordering?
We offer many of our most popular cake decorations for online ordering.  You can customize your cake by choosing from a variety of cake flavors and fillings.  All of our cakes available online are iced with our famous french buttercream.

Can I order a cake online with chocolate icing?
Many of our decorations are not compatible with chocolate icing.  They just don't look nice and do not meet our quality standard of providing you a show piece cake. To ensure that you are pleased with the the look of your cake, we only offer cakes iced with french buttercream for online ordering. If you are interested in customizing your cake with chocolate icing, please call us to place your order and to inquire about decoration choices.

What if I need a cake today?
We have standard decorated and undecorated cakes available in our store that we can write an  inscription on top.

How do I change my order?
You can call the bakery to make changes to your order. Please remember we require a 48 hour notice on any change or cancellation of your order.

What is included in the price of a decorated cake?
Along with your inscription, we offer standard decorations such as: Roses, Balloons, Black and Gold Balloons, Fondant  Polka Dots & Swirls, Football Field, and Pittsburgh Penguins. We also offer beautiful seasonal and holiday standard decorations. These designs can be viewed on our website at www.BethelBakery.com.

Where can I see your decorations?
Our website www.BethelBakery.com is a great resource.

Can I design my own cake?
Certainly! We do offer custom decorating which does incur an additional charge, based on how time consuming the design would be to decorate.

Can you draw a copyrighted design on my cake?
We uphold copyright regulations so we offer officially licensed figurines or Edible Images of popular images.

Can I put a picture on the cake?
Yes, we can scan a picture or logo on any size cake for an additional charge. Pictures can be dropped off at Bethel Bakery or emailed to info@BethelBakery.com in a jpg or gif format. Size of pictures on cakes are scaled to size of cake with the maximum of a 7”x10” image on half sheet cakes or larger. Create a theme and order picture cookies with your cake.

What is half and half?
Half and Half traditionally refers to yellow batter and chocolate batter. For no additional charge you may also have white batter and chocolate batter. Our sheet cakes have the batters side by side and round cakes are one layer yellow or white on top and one layer of chocolate underneath. NEW! For an additional charge we also have almond as a choice in your half and half cakes.

Can I get a filling in a sheet cake?
Yes, we will split the sheet cake and fill with your choice of one of our delicious fillings for an additional charge.

Should I refrigerate my cake?
If your celebration is same day or the next day, there is no reason to refrigerate unless your cake is custard filled, chocolate fudge filled or iced, cream cheese or whipped cream iced. If your celebration is more than two days away, your cake will keep better in the refrigerator. On hot, humid days of summer it is always best to refrigerate your cake.

Can I get an inscription on a dessert cake?
Certainly! If your favorite is Chocolate Mousse, Victorian Torte, Chocolate Cascade Cake or any other delicious dessert cakes, we can add an inscription for an additional charge.

Do you sell candles?
We offer an assortment of candles to enhance your celebration. Some of our popular candles are black for over the hill cake, magic relighting, number and sports themed. We also carry traditional candles in assorted colors.

Can I place an order for pickup at the McMurray Dairy Bar (MDB)?

YES! Orders for Decorated Cakes, No Cut Cakes, Itty Bitty Cakes and Cookie Cakes need to be placed through Bethel Bakery and prepaid when placing your order. All other orders such as cookies, dessert cakes, cupcakes, etc. need to be placed through the McMurray Dairy Bar. Orders through Bethel Bakery require 48 hours notice. Traveling with your cake?
When traveling with your cake, keep the cake cool, avoid quick stops or starts and keep the cake level.

DISCLAIMER:

  • Our cakes are hand decorated. Cake designs may vary slightly depending on the personal technique of the cake decorator that customizes your cake. Size and shape of cake will also determine the amount of decoration on your cake.
    All of our cakes are shown to the customer for final approval when the cake is picked up.

  • Large amounts of dark colors of icing such as red, black and royal or navy blue, etc. may temporarily stain your mouth and could permanently stain clothes, carpeting and furniture
